Visitor Visa Extension
Visitor Visas authorize temporary stay in Canada for up to 6 months. To remain in Canada longer than 6 months, an application for visitor record is required.
A visitor record is a single page paper document that authorizes visitors a longer stay in Canada.
The Visitor Record states all the conditions that apply to your stay in Canada as a visitor.
It also has a new expiry date which you must leave Canada by.
Visitor records do not guarantee re-entry into Canada, therefore it is not recommended to leave Canada with a Visitor Record.
